Brain Friendly Learning"

This workshop will explore current research on brain
development, learning, and human intelligence, and what we know about
how children learn and how this applies to developmentally appropriate
practices (DAP). We will discuss practical applications of this
information and how it influences the role of the teacher, curriculum
development, teaching strategies, the learning environment, and how we,
as educators and caregivers, interact with children.
Workshop Goals:
• To update and introduce current brain development research as
it applies to child development, learning, teaching and parenting.
• To link this research to developmentally appropriate practices,
adult/child interactions and environmental influences.
• To provide care givers, parents and teachers brain-friendly,
multi-sensory approaches and ideas to foster child development and
maximize full personal growth and development for every child.
Format: Lecture, large & small group discussion,
story-telling, self-reflection activities
