Workshop Description

"Engaging Adult Learners"

Presenter:  Constant Hine

This workshop is designed as a tool to help you reflect, organize and plan when preparing a presentation or workshop.  This workshop will provide a simple overview of the basic elements of powerful presentations, keys to and needs of adult learners and practical strategies for engaging adult learners by meeting their diverse individual needs and making the content meaningful and relevant.

This workshop will challenge and support our thinking of how to meet diverse and individual needs of adult learners.  This workshop promotes understanding of how to present information to and teach adults using developmentally and individually appropriate teaching strategies thereby modeling the same strategies we want caregivers and teachers to use with young children.

Participants will...

  • be introduced to the 10 keys to presenting powerful presentations.

  • learn a variety of presentation/training strategies for meeting the diverse needs of adult learners including strategies using the 8 intelligences as defined by Howard Gardner

  • learn teaching strategies that promote meaningful and relevant learning experiences for learners to connect with the content being presented.
